Our stained glass windows depict three scenes from Bethany in Palestine. The scene on the left is from the story of Jesus at Martha and Mary's home in Bethany. You can see Mary sitting at Jesus' feet listening and Martha wondering why Mary is not helping with the meal preparations. The next scene to the right is the triumphant entry into Jersusalem on Palm Sunday. Jesus came from Bethany and the home of Mary, Martha and Lazarus just before his entrance and his last week before the crucifixion and resurrection.. The last scene is the Raising of Lazarus, Mary's and Martha's brother, also at Bethany. The gospel of John describes this as the last great miracle just before his triumphant entry and the reason why the crowds were so excited about Jesus coming into the Holy City.
