PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
We commit ourselves:
To nurture our faith through
Prayer and Bible study;
To support the mission of the
Church worldwide;
To work for justice and peace;
And to build an inclusive,
Caring community of women that
Strengthens the Presbyterian Church
And witnesses to
The promise of God's kingdom.
GIVING PATTERNS FOR
PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
Presbyterian
Women's giving is known as "second mile giving" because it is over
and above our regular church pledge.
Our purpose, in part, states "
We commit ourselves to support the mission of the church worldwide and to build
an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the church and
witnesses to the promise of God's Kingdom."
ONGOING GIVING
This is our local unit's yearly
pledge to the general mission work of our church. Bethany's pledge this year is $1,800. See the Mission Yearbook of Prayer to learn where our money goes.
THE BIRTHDAY OFFERING
This offering, received in the
Spring, replaces Medical Mission Offering.
The monies are used for projects chosen on the basis of meeting needs of
"hurting people."
THE THANK OFFERING
This is a special offering, received
in the Fall to recognize God's blessings to us.
33%
goes to Medical Missions and 67% to New Creative Missions.
FELLOWSHIP OF THE LEAST COIN
This fund is administered by Church
Women United. Women of many nations
contribute the coin of least denomination of their country.
