CHANCEL CHOIR

Bethany’s Choir members sing on Sundays during the worship service, and for special engagements.  Choir practice is held at 6:45 p.m. every Wednesday evening during the season. (September – Mid June)  The Chancel Choir is open to all voices of the church.   Childcare is available during Choir Practice as well as during the Worship Service.  If you are interested in singing in the choir contact Choir Director Kate Campbell 592-2981.

 

CHRIST CARE SMALL GROUPS

FISH

On the first Sunday of each month, we collect food and offerings for FISH.  Please put any food in the FISH box in the Narthex, and designate any offerings to FISH. (FISH is a food bank and can only accept store bought food in cans or boxes. ) The loose offerings on Communion Sunday go to the Deacons' Fund.

 

GOSPEL RESCUE MISSION

A Mission of the church.   Items needed include: lunch meat, syrup, coffee, butter or margarine, cheese, sandwich bags, saran wrap, aluminum foil, paper lunch bags, bleach, toothpaste, shampoo and toilet paper.  (Take these directly to the Mission)

 

HEALTH MINISTRY

An active Health Ministry program is available at Bethany.   Health Ministries Representative, Sharon Alfsen can be reached at 476-6101. 

 

HOLY ROVERS CAMPING GROUP

Once a month from April – October, the Holy  Rovers gather together for a three, four, or five-day campout.  The group gathers at places locally like Lake Selmac, Indian Mary Park and Griffin Park, as well as places like Farewell Bend, Charleston, Roseburg, and the Oregon Coast.  The Holy Rovers is open to  everyone in the church with an RV. LIFT STREET YOUTH SERVICES/INN SIGHT SCHOOL

Once a month (usually the third Monday) a small group or church committee provides lunch for the at risk teens served by LIFT and Inn Sight at the school.  If you and/or your group would like to participate, contact elder Roy Harris 955-8316

 

MEN’S FELLOWSHIP

A study/fellowship men’s group that meets each Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. at  the Black Forest Restaurant 820 NE ‘E’ Street. Men of all ages are welcome to this morning study/sharing group.

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

Bethany’s Presbyterian Women meet the 4th Wednesday of the month from September – May for a catered lunch at the cost of $5.00. All ladies and their guests are invited to attend.  This year’s study series is on Joshua.

SANCTUARY FLOWERS 

This is a wonderful way to celebrate a special day in your life, remember a loved one, or honor someone.  Sign up on the flower chart in the Narthex  or  contact Deacon in charge of flowers, Sharon Armstrong at 659-2639.

 

STEPHEN MINISTRY

Our congregation's one-to-one caregiving ministry.  Stephen Ministers listen, explore feelings, pray, share Christ's love, maintain confidentiality, and attend to the caregiving process and leave the results to God.  Stephen Ministers care for people who are grieving, in crisis, in need of long-term care, dying, hospitalized, divorcing, experiencing losses as they age, going through a crisis of childbirth, and for the family and friends of people in crisis.  If you or someone you know is in need of the loving care of one of our trained Stephen Ministers contact Stephen Leader, Dorene Fowler at 479-3544.

 

SUNDAY MINI COURSES

Adult Christian Education & Mini Courses are offered in the Fireside room throughout the year after the Worship Service. 

 

CDs OF SUNDAY SERMONS

Available and delivered each week to the homes of our shut-ins and those who are ill.  You may contact the church office if you or  someone you know needs this service.  If you wish to purchase a copy of a worship service, contact the church office. 

 

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

Wednesdays, at 11:00 a.m. in the library for a weekly study from September  -  May.  All women of the church are  invited to attend this weekly Bible study. Women’s Bible Study is led by ChristCare Leader, Laura Burgess.

 

YOUTH  FELLOWSHIP

During the school year, youth ministry programs include the Middle School (grades 6-8), and High School (grades 9-12). Weekly youth programs are a time of fellowship, fun, prayer and study.  All Bethany youth and their friends are invited to attend ,  6:30 –8:00 p.m. for Middle & High School on Sunday evenings.  Throughout the year, our youth are also active in mission and outreach both locally and abroad.  Contact Children & Youth Ministries Leader Kathy Logan, 476-3684
